Disgusted whispers and distasteful glares were sent to a person they didn’t even know, besides their sexual orientation. Papers were thrown at them for being different and for being an outcast to the society. They were like a lifeless doll, getting pushed around by those who are not like them.
They knew that the people are wrong for judging them that easily. Though, they were too afraid to speak out to the world about what and who they truly are. They knew it wasn’t that easy.
When they thought that everything would get more difficult, something happened miraculously that somehow changed their lives to the fullest.
The House Bill No. 4982 or the Sexual Orientation or the Gender Identity or Expression (SOGIE) has been approved by the House, fulfilling the rights that was set off last 1987 constitution, or the equal protection clause.
This bill gave hope to other individuals who have been struggling to come out to the public, fearing that they may be judged by those who aren’t like them. This bill gave a large opportunity to those who are different from people. It was something they are proud of.
Whether you’re straight, gay, or bisexual, it doesn’t matter. If no one will accept you for the way you are, it doesn’t matter. There are some who will accept you fully.
After all, you are what you love and not who loves you.
