I want to be known by you

Black and violent clouds spread behind a person’s eyelids that were filled with emotional tidal waves as thoughts ran through his head like wild hyenas. He couldn’t quite comprehend on what was going on, especially to the people around him and his exterior. He just knows that he felt alone, almost as if no one could save him from drowning when he see the others swimming on top of him.

His friends tried to help, but he never opened up to them, only saying that he’s tired and fine as he plastered a fake smile on his face. No one seemed to notice his true demeanor. No one seemed to ask if he’s okay. No one seemed to care.

At least, that’s what he thinks.

As he was on the brink of insanity, somebody came to his aid. It wasn’t just the people who helped him, no, it was the newly made law for people like him: The Republic Act 11036 that would “set the path for the government’s policy in integrating mental health in the country’s public healthcare system.”

The act had helped people through a lot and especially when they hit rock bottom. It was something everyone needs just to keep them sane and somewhat decent to face their lives. It was something the he needed.

When he thought that he was a goner and no one would catch his breath, he felt something he didn’t think he would experience again: Hope.

He knew, deep inside his brain, that he can be saved from oblivion.
